Shawn is so excited to play in the creek while we are there. He keeps talking about it whenever we talk about our trip. Verona and Blaine were over last night and Verona was worrying about snakes in the water. Shawn of course, thought that was silly, country boy that he is!
I can totally see Verona worrying about snakes! I don't like them either, though. We have seen a few in the creek, but I guess they generally try to stay away from us as much as most of us try to stay away from them! We do like to hang out by (and some of us in) the creek. We used to do a lot of innertubing trips down the rivers in this area. We did one last summer, down the New River. Grandma J., Adrian's mom, wants to go this summer for part of her birthday celebration / present. We will probably try to make a trip with her sometime in July, maybe down the Dan River.
Oh, I was going to say, too, Lisa, that I'll bet your kids would like to go down to the creek and throw rocks. That's what Elise and Ian like to do. They get in the water below the dam where it's shallow or stand on the bank and throw rocks to their hearts content!
mama's right. your kids will love it, it think. my kids don't like the deeper part. they stay in the shallow & throw rock & splash. it's nice & shady, too so those adults who don;t like sun (ie. cory) can enjoy things too.
