impressive raft! looks like a lot of work. how did it do as a raft?
You all make me want to move into the lush country so my kids can do cool things like this. Shawn will be so jealous!
The raft works best for hauling fillers (leaves, mud) to the dam to keep water from going through the cracks between the rocks. It needs more bamboo to make it support the boys better.
We do have fun at our little creek. We walked down the hill last night to our hide-away by the creek and built a fire and roasted hot dogs and made homemade strawberry ice cream for FHE refreshments. Ethan worked on the dam and Logan swam in the creek. We are slowly getting the water level back up. Adam helped me turn the crank on the ice cream while Daddy kept the fire going. The wood was wet and took some extra effort to get a good fire. We had a nice home evening together as we sat around the fire. It was almost dark when we started packing up. Adrian used his new/old pump and pumped water from the creek to put out the fire...it looked like water from a fire hydrant - pretty forceful!
Speaking of water activities, Grandma J. informed us that for her b-day she wants to go tubing again before Ethan leaves for UT. We wanted to try to get a group together to go sometime in July. Anyone interested in going?
