A REUNION ANYONE?
We had such a good time visiting with relatives this past weekend and wondered what everyone (all the descendants of Arnold and Delia Sechrest) thought about trying to have a reunion next summer? You can post it here or e-mail, but I thought it would be good to see what ideas everyone might have. First, is there interest in doing something like that? And second, where would you want to do it - North Carolina, Arizona, Utah, Nauvoo, or somewhere else? Your thoughts and ideas....

i had such a great time, i would love to have one. for me, anyway, although the extended family reunions are nice and serve their purpose, i would love to have one with grandma's & grandpa's descendents. those are the people i feel close to and would enjoy seeing and being with. so my vote is YES!
Let's do it in UTAH!
1. It's the North Carolina folks' turn to travel.
2. Arizona is WAY TOO HOT in the summer.
I would rather put a stick in my eye than go there. If we did it the following winter, I am all for going to Arizona, though.
So...no one else wants to do it?

I sent the invite. About the reunion idea, I know Verona is interested. Don't know about everyone else...
I certainly think it sounds fun! I would love to do it in Utah. People keep dying in AZ from the heat. I think next summer, I would rather be in Utah, were it is only 103!
If anyone hasn't noticed, Shawn is very outspoken, particularly when I am not there!
Shawn, and everyone else who signed up, I think I changed it so everyone who registered on the Sechrest Family blog is an adminstrator now. I figure it's a family blog, so it should belong to all of us, right?! Everyone can still comment, but the ones who registered can make changes, although it's probably good to keep it simple, so as not to confuse folks too much. If anyone in the family wants to register, we can include them as administrators, too. I hope we'll hear from lots of folks in the family! It's so nice to keep in touch!
Blaine and I would love a reunion next summer. There is a chance we'll be in Illinois on a mission. President Top of the Peoria Mission has an opening for us in March if we can get Blaine's foot well and both of us healthy enough to serve. In that case, how about everyone coming to Nauvoo which is in that mission! If we're not on a mission, we love Utah, and jump at any chance to go there. But, Shawn, you're thinking of the the valley in Arizona with those awful temperatures! We in northern Arizona have cool days and especially evenings, so we invite you all to come here sometime. In any case, let's do it!
i'm excited hearing about the plans! if we're serious about having one, we need to get started planning it, whether we do it next summer or whenever!
If we did it in Nauvoo, is there a good place we could all stay that is close by and that would be fun? I'm open to all the possibilities - Mount Airy, UT, AZ, or Nauvoo. I want Grandma Delia to be there and I don't know how she'd feel about traveling... maybe she could.
